Why breathing

The last vital nobody measures.

VO2 max and HRV used to belong to sports labs. Now they're on your wrist. We believe breathing is next.

Breathe through your nose and the air arrives slowed, the exhale lengthens, the heart rate falls, and the body drops into the deep part of the night. Switch to your mouth and the whole sequence collapses. It's why you can wake with a 90 sleep score and still feel like you didn't sleep.

Most people do this most nights and never find out, because the only place breathing can actually be measured is at the nose, and nothing you own is anywhere near it.

FLOU sits where the air flows.

What it measures

Signals no wrist can reach.

Because the sensor sits at the source of the airflow, it measures breathing directly — not inferred from movement at your wrist. Tap any card to read more.

Nose vs. mouth ratio

Nose vs. mouth ratio

The headline number. Almost everyone assumes they breathe through their nose all night — FLOU shows you the hours you didn't, the ones that leave you dry-mouthed and unrested. It is the number most likely to move once you start changing things.

Breath gaps

Breath gaps

Your breathing doesn't run evenly through the night. It stalls, shallows, and restarts, and you sleep through every one of them. FLOU shows you when, how long, and what you were doing at the time.

Breathing-regulated HRV

Breathing-regulated HRV

Heart-rate variability read against your breathing rhythm — the only way the number means anything. A wrist sees the beats, not the breath underneath them.

Snoring & position

FLOU knows which side you were lying on when your breathing changed — so "sleep on your side" stops being generic advice and starts being a measurable result.

Rate & depth

How fast you breathe, how deeply, and how the inhale divides against the exhale. Slow breathing with a long exhale is the signature of a nervous system that has stood down for the night.

The difference

Why not just use the watch you already own?

Because a wrist device infers your breathing from motion. FLOU measures it at the nose.
